Primary
Care & Hope Clinic
The mission of the Primary Care & Hope Clinic is
to provide accessible, affordable, and quality
health care to the medically uninsured and
underserved our community. The Primary Care &
Hope Clinic was developed in 1992 to increase
the availability of health care services to the
community by combining the efforts of medical
professionals and institutions, religious
community, existing local resource agencies, and
community volunteers. Broad-based community
support and involvement are key elements in the
viability of this model for health care. Our
clinic is unique in that it is the only facility
in Rutherford County with a comprehensive
program designed specifically to meet the
medical needs of the uninsured. These needs
encompass not only the physical examination, but
provision of lab work, x-ray diagnostics,
medications and social services. Our services
include treatment for acute and chronic illness,
well visits/physical exams, women's health, well
child exams, immunizations, and social services.
Our vision is to provide a medical home for the
uninsured of Rutherford and Cannon County. Too
often, the uninsured fail to obtain preventive
health services, as well as primary care for
routine illnesses, because they have no
consistent point of health care access. This
lack of affordable, available access causes the
uninsured to statistically develop advanced
diseases and seek treatment in the most
expensive, but accessible, environment of the
Emergency Room and community hospital. The
Primary Care & Hope Clinic seeks to strengthen
its vision of providing affordable, accessible
health care for the uninsured through the
combined efforts of Rutherford County
volunteers, businesses, educational, civic,
religious, professional, and governmental
institutions. By involving the entire community,
the Clinic can operate as a responsible steward
of its charitable resources while providing
efficient and clinically excellent health care
for the uninsured through a coordinated network
of available services.
